Birmingham TAMNS group is a musical Support group for adults who are Trans and Autistic/Neurodiverse.

Who can come?

The group is for Trans Men, Trans Women and Non-Binary people across the gender spectrum. You can be at any stage of transition and you do not need to be out.

The group is open to anyone with a diagnosis of autism or similar neurodiversity (i.e ADHD, Dyspraxia).
Self diagnosis is valid but it is preferable that you have considered seeking diagnosis or are in the process currently. All participants must be aged 18 or over.

Where is it?

The Warehouse, Shaw’s Passage entrance, Digbeth.

When is it?

Wednesdays, 5.30pm and 7.15pm.

Does it cost money?

A £5 Voluntary contribution is requested per participant.

What will it happen?

The group uses a mix of free flow discussion, musical improvisation and structured discussion of topics.

Why music?

The group is run by a HCPC registered Music Therapist. Music Therapy has a strong evidence base of supporting Neurodiverse people of all levels of verbal expression and will allow peer connection without the pressure of Verbalising thoughts, feelings and emotions. It’s also good fun and great for stimming.

Should I bring anything?

Your own musical instruments if you have them.
Ear Defenders and any other sensory aides if you need hem.
Water will be provided and you can buy vegan snacks and drinks at the venue.
