Overview
We are a peer directed Trans and gender diverse group (including questioning) who meet regularly for social support, activities and access to professional services, such as support for reporting hate crimes, sexual health and more. We have pamper events, swimming sessions and more. Groups are monthly but other meetings also happen outside of this. We also allow, family, friends, partners and allies along if they are supporting someone or helping someone get ready to attend. All we ask for is respect and acceptance.
The group is run by Age UK IW – they have funding from the OPCC for Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for an LGBT+ Domestic Abuse and Hate Crime support project. one off events have been happening since the project started in 2015, however, the Time for t group was set up late 2017 and monthly meetings began January 2018. We have an online group for those who use social media and have over 65 members at present online and another 30-40 people who attend regularly without social media access.
We just want to connect people up, have some fun, support each other and connect people with services so that they have confidence in being themselves.
